FAQ's

Are classes assessed by age?

A child's age is just a guideline, we assess all children in the first few weeks and will place them in the right class according to ability.

Can I observe a class?

Parents/carers are not permitted to stay in the class. We find that the children struggle to settle into the class with their parents/carers present. All parents/carers are invited to celebrate their child's progress during showcases and performances.

I have booked my trial. What happens next?

A member of our team will get back to you as soon as possible with further details.

What should my child bring to the trial session?

  • Comfortable clothing and shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Healthy snack if taking two or more classes (we are a nut-free zone)
  • Backpack with labelled spare clothes/underwear, if applicable
  • Medication, if applicable
  • Notepad and pen depending on age group
  • Lots of energy.

Upon enrolment, are all students required to wear uniform?

Yes! Branded Onyx uniform is compulsory for all students.

Can my child bring a toy?

Children are not permitted to bring toys.

Will my child be accompanied to the toilet?

Yes. All children will be accompanied to and from the toilet.

Will my child receive 1-1 tuition during Phonics at Onyx?

No. Classes are conducted in a group setting.

Do you accept payment plans and/or funding?

Yes! We do not believe financial barriers should impact a child's ability to access the arts. We therefore offer payment plans and accept funding. Please contact us to discuss this further.
