Our pre-school programme is the heart and soul of our Onyx family. We offer a range of classes where students are introduced to the magical world of the arts. We combine singing, acting and ballet in a jam-packed hour of fun as well as a dynamic street dance class. We also offer a unique phonics booster session delivered by a qualified teacher.
Students learn new performative skills, grow in confidence and make new friends. We also pride ourselves in introducing our little stars to invaluable skills such as listening, following instructions and waiting for their turn. In these classes, our children develop rhythm, resilience and collaboration. Our sessions are engaging, dynamic and above all, fun!
Phonics at Onyx
In these classes children take part in fun, whole group booster sessions in phase 1 phonics. This crucial phase helps in developing the children's abilities to listen to, make, explore and talk about sounds.
Phase 2 phonics will be introduced as and when applicable. These sessions are ran by a qualified teacher with 20 years experience in primary teaching and SEN.
Performing Arts Combo
This class is the perfect introduction to performing arts for our budding superstars! Children are introduced to ballet, acting through story, singing and movement. Sessions are carefully planned to include age appropriate learning opportunities.
Students have the option to take the Young Performers Trinity Exam.
Street Dance
Our street dance classes start with a full body warm up to improve cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility.
Students are then taught an age appropriate routine to their favourite tunes.
